Volunteering in Amar Jyoti Basic School

We have completed an another exciting volunteer project at Amar Joyoti Basic School in Pokhara Through the World Challenge and Mother and children art foundation. The team Belongs to Danville Park Girls High School from  South America. There where 13 volunteers participating in the team. They were an amazing team and actively participating to the volunteer work.

Further more, it was wonderful Project and the volunteers spent 3 days (6th to 8th July 2018) in the community. At their arrival a ceremony was prepared by the community,  they offered Khada (white Scarf), red tika on their forehead and flowers. It was a nice and warm welcoming by the people.

In addition, Volunteers had spent (Nepali rupees) Rs, 79340 amount to the project. To purchase needed materials by themselves from the near shop. The highlighted part of the project was their bargained, which was very well while purchasing materials from the locals. Thanks to that, they could buy more materials for the project.

At last, volunteers had a wonderful time in the Small village, during the project. They were able to complete several tasks such as, water tap replacement, School ground leveling, Classroom painting, coloring the doors and windows. Beside that the team had spend great time in the community, while learning about the typical Nepali culture and interacting with locals.
