Things to Know Before Chisapani Hiking

Before starting your hike to Chisapani, ensure you have the necessary permits, such as the Shivapuri National Park entry permit. Accommodation in Chisapani consists of basic teahouses, offering a rustic yet cozy experience. For more comfort, nearby Nagarkot and Dhulikhel provide a range of lodging options. Pack essentials like trekking shoes, warm clothing, a water bottle, a hat, sunscreen, and a first aid kit. Checking weather conditions before your trek is crucial, as mountain weather can be unpredictable.

07:00 – 08:00 am

All groups will gather at the Lhasso Adventure office. After a brief introduction and orientation, our guide and representatives will verify that you have all the essential equipment required for the hike, according to the checklist provided when you confirmed your participation in the hiking program.

08:00 -9:00 am

After the introduction round, you will be escorted to Sundarijal, where your hiking adventure begins. The journey to Sundarijal from our starting point takes approximately an hour. Upon arrival, you can enjoy a warm tea before preparing with essentials like filling up your water bottle. If there’s anything you’ve forgotten, Sundarijal is your last opportunity for shopping before we embark on the hike.

9:30am-15:30pm

Your journey begins at the picturesque Sundarijal market, where you’ll be greeted by natural springs and cascading waterfalls as you ascend stone stairs. Along the way, you’ll witness the water supply pipelines to Kathmandu Valley, the Sundarijal Hydropower Dam, and other notable attractions. The hiking route is renowned for its rich natural and cultural diversity. The dense green forests, the melodious chirping of various birds, and encounters with diverse flora and fauna promise a memorable experience.

As you trek towards Chisapani at 2300m, you’ll pass by a few charming tea houses where you can savor warm tea or soup while soaking in panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley. Descending steadily along ridges through oak and rhododendron forests, you’ll soon reach Chisapani. Upon checking into a cozy tea house lodge, take a moment to freshen up and mingle with fellow travelers over a delightful dinner by the warmth of the fire.

6:00-8:00am

Day two is especially important since you can’t wait to stop and see the sun rising. Enjoy this moment with your camera, thoughts, and eyes. After the magnificent sunrise, fuel up for the adventure ahead with a healthy breakfast. Since you will be returning to Sundarijal via the same track, get ready.

12:00–16:00pm

Reach the scenic Sundarijal Valley, home to a range of sports like rock climbing and canyoning. Before starting your hike, please let our representative know if you plan to join. As an alternative, you can plan for our car to pick you up and drop you off at the activities and spend a few hours visiting Sundarijal.
