Your adventure begins in the scenic city of Pokhara, surrounded by rolling hills and the iconic Machhapuchhre (Fish-Tail) peak. After a short drive past Pokhara, the trek commences, leading you through high hills adorned with tall rhododendron trees at Ghorepani village. Here, you’ll enjoy views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna peaks. A short hike to Poon Hill rewards you with breathtaking panoramas of the Himalayas, especially at sunrise.

From Ghorepani, the route diverts from main trails, ascending past farm villages into serene forests atop the ridge line at Kopra Ridge. This scenic spot, higher than Poon Hill, offers views of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Nilgiri, Vara-Shikar (Annapurna Fang), and Annapurna South.

As you travel further, the scenery transitions, and you’ll reach the warmer areas near Nayapul town, situated alongside the Pokhara and Beni highway. From Nayapul, your trek begins, leaving the Modi River behind as you venture onward to the charming village of Bhirethati. Continuing your trek, you’ll eventually arrive at Tirkhedhunga village, where you’ll spend the night, immersed in the tranquility of the Himalayan foothills.

From Tirkhedhunga with steep uphill on stone paved steps to reach at Ulleri village, and then on gradual winding trail to reach at Ghorepani as walk leads into lovely alpine woodland of rhododendron and pine trees.

After a great pleasant walk within cool shade of woodland reaching at Ghorepani village, where next early morning hike takes you at Poon Hill, Ghorepani home of Poon people of Magar origin tribe, an ethnic hill tribes of Nepal famous as Gorkha soldiers in UK-India and other foreign countries. Early in the morning, before breakfast, embark on a one-hour hike to the stunning Poon Hill, situated at an elevation of over 3,210 meters, making it one of the highest points of the trek.
