First, the trek kicks off with a short drive to the verdant mid-hills of the Annapurna range. As you ascend, you’ll pass through lush farm fields and terraced villages like Potana and Deurali. Along the way, panoramic vistas of the Annapurna, Manaslu, Lamjung, and Machhapuchhre (Fish-Tail) mountains unfold, with the majestic Dhaulagiri Himal as a backdrop.
Moreover, venturing off the main trekking trails, the Mardi Himal trek leads you into pristine wilderness, where dense forests of rhododendron, oak, magnolia, pine, and fir envelop you in their natural splendor. As you ascend along scenic ridges, the tree line gradually gives way to rhododendron bushes and alpine shrubs, offering unparalleled views of the Annapurna range.
Upon reaching the base of Mardi Himal, the pinnacle of the adventure awaits at over 4,500 meters. Here, beneath the towering peaks of Machhapuchhre, also known as the “Other Sanctuary,” you’ll enjoy a breathtaking panorama of mountains that seem to touch the sky.
After soaking in the beauty of Mardi Himal, the journey retraces its steps before branching off onto an alternative trail. As you descend through warmer areas along the Mardi River, the trek culminates with a drive back to Pokhara, completing an exhilarating experience in the Himalayas.

Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by a representative from Lhasso Adventure, who will assist you with the transfer to your hotel in the vibrant district of Thamel. After checking into your comfortable hotel rooms and freshening up, take some time to relax and unwind. In the evening, we will have our group meeting for team introductions and trip orientation. Our guide will provide a detailed briefing on the journey ahead, followed by a Q&A session. Later, we’ll head out for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant to experience authentic Nepali cuisine.
Morning depart from Kathmandu for an interesting drive to scenic Pokhara, leading you on Nepal’s most busy highway with views of high mountains and green landscapes as drive heads encounter towns and farm villages and then reaching Pokhara after 7-8 hours of exciting overland driving at Pokhara hotels located near Phewa Lake.
Pokhara, a beautiful, renowned touristic city blessed with natural beauty, is placed on the laps of the massive Annapurna Himalaya with the magnificent machhapuchchhre Himal ‘Fish Tail’, a virgin and unclimbed peaks of the Himalaya.
Besides mountains and rolling green hills, the calm lakes of Phewa and Begnas are where most of the good hotels and international-standard restaurants are located.
Note: Alternatively, you can take a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, which takes around 30–35 minutes.
After breakfast, take a short 1.5-hour drive to Kande (1,770m), the starting point of your trek. From here, begin your uphill hike through beautiful rhododendron and oak forests. The trail passes through Australian Camp (2,050m) and Pothana before reaching Pittam Deurali, a small settlement with a few teahouses and stunning views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre.
Today’s trail winds through dense forests and gradual ascents along a peaceful path. You’ll likely see fewer trekkers on this route, making the walk serene. Watch for colorful birds and occasional glimpses of the mountains as you reach Rest Camp, a quiet stop nestled among forested ridges.
The trek today ascends further into alpine terrain, with thinning forests and panoramic views. As you climb past Low Camp (2,970m), the scenery opens up dramatically. The route becomes steeper and more rugged, but you’re rewarded with stunning views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Mardi Himal, and Annapurna South. High Camp sits above the tree line, offering a close-up view of the snow-covered peaks.
Begin early to catch the sunrise from Mardi View Point. The trail is steep and challenging, but the breathtaking views of Mardi Himal, Annapurna I, and the surrounding Himalayan range make the effort worthwhile. After soaking in the panorama, descend to High Camp for a short rest and lunch before continuing down to Low Camp.
After a fabulous time on the high ridges of Mardi Himal with beautiful views, we went back into a forest of rhododendron and pine trees, retracing the journey back on the same trail at Jungle Camp and beyond with a more downhill walk to reach Siding village. Then take a drive to Pokhara. The journey leads beautiful green hills with a lot of views of mountains on route Pokhara, where our wonderful Annapurna Mardi Himal Trekking completes at picturesque Pokhara by the calm lake of Phewa Lake for our last overnight stop around the Annapurna region.
Morning transfer either by car or coach as well as taking a tourist bus (depending on the group size), where an interesting overland journey brings you back to Kathmandu with scenic views of mountains, green scenery of hills, and farm fields within nice villages and towns as the drive leads into the hustle and bustle of the of the city life of Kathmandu.
On reaching Kathmandu, transfer to your respective hotels with time for individual activities and shopping for souvenirs.

On your final day in Nepal, following an amazing experience and adventure at Mardi Himal Trek with excellent service from Lhasso Adventure, transfer to Kathmandu International Airport in accordance with your international flight to return home or to your respective destinations.

Spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) are the ideal seasons to hike to Mardi Himal Trek. These months provide beautiful vistas of the mountains, bright skies, and consistent weather.
It is thought that the Mardi Himal Trek is a moderate to difficult hike. It doesn't require technical climbing skills; it just involves walking on hilly and occasionally steep terrain for several hours each day.
The highest point of the trek is Mardi Himal Base Camp, which is situated at an altitude of 4,500 meters (14,764 feet).
While it is feasible to complete the trek on your own, it is strongly advised—especially for first-time trekkers—to hire a guide. In addition to ensuring your safety and improving your entire experience, guides can offer invaluable local expertise.
Essential gear includes good trekking boots, warm clothing (layers), a rain jacket, a sleeping bag, trekking poles, a hat, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, a water bottle, and a backpack.
Yes, trekkers need two permits: the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and the Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) card.
Accommodation on the Mardi Himal Trek consists mainly of teahouses, which are simple lodges providing basic facilities like a bed, meals, and sometimes hot showers.
Teahouses serve a range of meals, including western options like pasta, noodles, pancakes, and omelets, as well as traditional Nepali fare like dal bhat (lentil soup with rice).
As you go higher into the atmosphere, altitude sickness may become an issue. It's critical to correctly acclimate, maintain hydration, and recognize the warning signs of altitude sickness.
There aren't plenty of medical facilities along the route. A basic first aid kit and any necessary prescriptions should be carried at all times. Evacuation to a hospital in Pokhara or Kathmandu may be required in cases of major health difficulties.
In certain parts of the walk, there may be restricted access to the internet and cell service. While some tea shops do have Wi-Fi, it does not always work. It's advisable to let friends and family know ahead of time that you won't be available for communication during the walk.
