Wake up bright and early and drive northwest upwards to the Trisuli bazaar you’ll get views of the Manaslu Massif, Ganesh, Langtang and Jugal Himal. Prepare yourselves for a few humps and bumps, because the road from Trisuli onwards begins to deteriorate. You’ll be driving in these conditions for around 50 kilometres (31 miles) to Dhunche and then another 15 kilometres (9 miles) to Syabrubesi. Another 21 kilometers up hill drive to the Gatlang village from Syabrubasi. Tonight’s accommodation in a basic teahouse.
Gorgeous vistas of the Tibetan Himalayas and the Ganesh and Langtang peaks to the north greet you as the morning breaks. After a steady ascent past tiny farming communities and alpine forests, the journey finally reaches Tatopani, where you can spend the night. Visit the hot springs in the afternoon (the word “Tatopani” means “hot water”), where you may take a quick stroll through the neighboring towns and relax in the naturally formed spring pool.
This is a quick, half-day walk that follows the Nagthali route close to the Tibet border. The trail starts out slowly traveling north in the morning and spends most of the day climbing, with some downhill stretches providing breathtaking vistas of Langtang Lirung and Ganesh Himal. You will pass the relatively small village of Nagthali as you make your way through forested terrain. This is the highest village on the trek, and it is where you will spend the night.
Take advantage of the chance to explore the beautiful surroundings and engage with the residents in this quaint and isolated agricultural village to learn more about their fascinating culture.
We’ll trek for a few hours from Nagthali to Thuman, a fascinating Tamang settlement. Following our exploration of Thuman, we will drive a short distance back to Syaburbesi, where we will spend our last night in the Tamang area of Rasuwa District, close to Langtang Himal.
After breakfast, take a scenic 5- to 6-hour drive back to Kathmandu, taking in the breathtaking Nepalese countryside with all of its quaint towns and villages.
