Chandra Bahadur Rai, originally from Dhankuta in eastern Nepal, grew up with eight siblings and faced a challenging life, walking two hours to school daily. Disliking agriculture, he moved to Kathmandu after high school in search of work and began as a porter. His first trek was to Everest Base Camp in 1996 with American trekkers, where he carried over 40 kg of load—a challenging yet inspiring experience that ignited his passion for trekking.
After nearly 14 years, he became a certified trekking guide, completing several essential training courses including Trekking Guide, Advanced Wilderness First Aid, Basic Map Reading & Navigation, Trekking Leadership Development, and High Altitude Illness courses.
A seasoned and enthusiastic guide, Chandra has been with Lhasso Adventure since early 2015. With over 23 years of experience in trekking and mountain biking, he excels in creating tailored itineraries and is committed to delivering exceptional customer service and unforgettable travel experiences.
