Chandra Bahadur Rai

Chandra Bahadur Rai hails from Dhankuta in eastern Nepal, where he was raised alongside eight siblings. His early life was marked by determination and resilience, walking over two hours daily just to attend school. Uninterested in agricultural work, Chandra moved to Kathmandu after completing high school, seeking better opportunities. He began his journey in the tourism industry as a porter, and in 1996, he undertook his first trek to Everest Base Camp, carrying over 40 kg for American trekkers. Though physically demanding, this experience sparked a lifelong passion for trekking and adventure.
After nearly 14 years of hands-on experience, Chandra earned his official certification as a trekking guide. To enhance his skills and knowledge, he completed several professional training programs, including the Trekking Guide License, Advanced Wilderness First Aid, Basic Map Reading and Navigation, Trekking Leadership Development, and High Altitude Illness Awareness courses.
Since joining Lhasso Adventure in early 2015, Chandra has continued to share his extensive knowledge and passion with clients. With over 23 years of experience in both trekking and mountain biking across Nepal’s diverse landscapes, he is known for crafting personalized itineraries and providing top-tier service. His dedication ensures every traveler embarks on a journey that is not only safe and smooth, but also unforgettable.
