Next, explore the charming Tamang villages in the Langtang region. These mountain communities showcase vibrant cultures and Buddhist traditions similar to those found across the Tibetan border.
Continue along high ridges with varied terrain through cool forests of rhododendron, magnolia, birch, oak, pine, and fir. Pass yak-grazing lands before reaching the sacred Gosainkunda Lake. Revered by both Hindus and Buddhists, this glacial lake attracts pilgrims during the August monsoon festival, where many come to bathe in its icy waters.
From Gosainkunda, trek up to the highest point at Gosainkunda Pass (East Laurabinaya-La), which stands over 4,609 meters (15,100 feet). Enjoy dramatic views of the surrounding landscapes and mountains from this vantage point.
The adventure then leads you to the scenic and culturally rich villages of Helambu, including Tarke-Ghyang. These villages are home to the Hyalmo and Yalmo tribes, whose culture and customs reflect those of the Tamang and Sherpa communities, with strong Buddhist influences.
After exploring these lovely villages and immersing yourself in their culture, head downhill to warmer areas. Conclude your trek with a drive back to Kathmandu, ending a remarkable two-week adventure through the Langtang and Gosainkunda regions.
After being met by a representative from Lhasso Adventure upon arrival at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport (Alt. 1350m~4429.1339ft), you will be transferred to your individual accommodations in Thamel. After getting cleaned up, check into your hotel rooms. Our knowledgeable guides will give you an overview of the journey in the evening.

In the morning, embark on a jeep journey toward the high Langtang Himal area in Rasuwa District. The drive begins by leaving the Kathmandu Valley and heading through the warmer regions of Trisuli Bazaar, a pleasant town in the Nuwakot area. The journey continues along a mountain highway, passing through farm villages and towns, eventually reaching the cooler town of Dhunche, situated at an elevation of 1,950 meters, where the Langtang National Park begins.
From Dhunche, the road descends in a series of zig-zag turns to our overnight stop at Syabrubesi, a village inhabited by the Tamang people, known for their fascinating Buddhist culture. Upon arrival in Syabrubesi, we’ll check into the best available lodge for a comfortable overnight stay.
Today’s trek spans approximately 6 hours, leading us through diverse landscapes and breathtaking vistas. Starting at the Bhote Kosi, we ascend a steep grassy mountainside, passing through Sherpa Gaon and the Tibetan village of Kakdinma. As we climb, Ganesh Himal looms closer, offering a majestic backdrop. Resting at Bhanjyang, we savor the panoramic mountain views before descending towards Syabru Village. Continuing our journey, we wind through Sherpa Gaon and cattle pastures, finally arriving at the Lama Hotel. Here, nestled by the Langtang Khola, we find respite for the night, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the Himalayas.
Morning walk heading high hills above the river gorge into dense woodlands of tall trees of pines and rhododendron, following a few farm houses of cattle herders shelters, and then to a cooler place in the beautiful forest surrounding Ghoda Tabela.
After a refreshing stop, another few hours of good walking are needed to reach Langtang village for an overnight stop, the last village before Kyanjin. Here, explore this interesting Tamang village of Tibetan origin with a similar lifestyle and culture.
After a pleasant overnight in Langtang village, In the morning, we’ll venture through the village and ascend to a chorten, offering a memorable view of an extensive mani stonewall. Passing terraced hills, villages, and riverbeds, we’ll cross Lirung Glacier to behold the towering peaks of Kimshun (6745 m) and Yansa Tsenji (6543 m). Continuing, we traverse an old lateral moraine to reach Kyanjin Gompa, home to a government rest house, cheese factory, and monastery. The trek spans about 3 hours, rewarding us with breathtaking 180-degree mountain vistas at eye level.
In the afternoon, you have the option to relax amidst the mountain scenery or ascend the northern flank of Chair Pooch Peak (4000 m). From the peak, enjoy panoramic views of Langtang Lirung (7245 m), Ganesh Himal in the west, Ganjala Himal in the south, and a glimpse of the pass leading to Helambu.
This day is dedicated to acclimatization and a full-day excursion around Kyanjin Gompa. You have the option to trek to the foot of the Langtang Lirung glacier or the Langsisa glacier. From Kyanjin Gompa, traverse a wide alluvial delta, pass an airstrip offering panoramic views of Langtang Lirung, and continue along the river towards Langshisa Ri (6427 m). Climb rocky terraced hills to reach Jatang, then descend to the dry riverbed and ascend to witness the terminal moraine of the Shalbachum Glacier at Nubamatang. Cross grassy fields and climb the terminal moraine for stunning vistas of Pemathang Karpo Ri (6830 m) and Langshisa Ri. Descend to Langshisa Kharka (4125 m) for views of Kanshurum (6078 m) and Urkinmang (6151 m) at the far reaches of the Langshisa Glacier. Overnight stay at Kyanjin Gompa.
Enjoying the final light views of the surrounding snow-capped mountains in the picturesque Langtang valley in the morning as you stroll back downhill to the Lama Hotel and into the refreshing shade of the forest.
The trek today takes the same route for an hour. After crossing the bridge, the walk is pleasant through a bamboo forest and rain forest. Once the river is crossed, the climb begins through a section of landslide rock and boulder, passing through farm terraces to Upper Syabru, also known as Thulo Syabru, which means bigger. Upper Syabru is a village with a row of houses situated on a ridge and a monastery.
The morning walk leads uphill on a winding path above the monastery and then gains more height, facing views of the Ganesh-Himal, Manaslu, Langtang, and Annapurna ranges towards the far west. After a few refreshing stops at teahouses on route, the journey continues with an hour uphill from the farmlands and into a cool alpine forest, and then reaching Sing Gompa for an overnight stop near its old monastery.
More views of the snow-capped peaks of Langtang to the north, the Ganesh-Himal range to the north-west, Manaslu, and the Annapurna range can be seen from the trek today. The walk begins with a gradual ascent into oak, pine, and rhododendron forests, lasting an hour. After a short break to take in the expansive views, the walk continues on an uphill trail, leaving tree lines and verdant vegetation in favor of dwarf rhododendron, juniper, and alpine shrubs.
The trail winds uphill, passing by a few teahouses at Laurabina, which means “a place with walking sticks.” According to the Nepali Luna Calendar, pilgrims visit Gosainkunda Pond during an auspicious time in August during the full moon, believing that a ritual bathe and dip in the water will transport them into paradise and atone for their sins over a hundred lifetimes. Hindu pilgrims leave their walking sticks at this location, hence the name Laurabina.
From here, a little ascent followed by a short descent across Saraswati and Bhiarav Kund takes you to Gosainkunda, our overnight site, which is located next to its immaculate pond. There are numerous pilgrims’ remnants visible here.
From Gosainkunda, take a gradual walk on a small path along a pond, and then climb near a small creek in between rocks and boulders. As the walk leads close to a small pond in Surjakund, the trail here is more gradual, winding up to Gosainkunda Pass or East Laurabina La, the highest spot of the adventure.
After the top, a long descent to Phedi (bottom) at 3,694 m, a few teahouses, a possible lunch stop, and then our journey continues east towards the Helambu region and back into green vegetation of junipers and rhododendron, and then reaching Ghopte (meaning overhanging rocks) for an overnight stop.
You begin the walk through beautiful forests and difficult terrain on the trek from Ghopte to Mangan Goath via Tadepatti. The trail gradually climbs to Tadepatti, where you can pause to take in the breathtaking views of the surroundings. The trail progressively declines as it goes, passing through quaint little towns and farms with terraces. From broad meadows to deep forests, the route offers a variety of landscapes that combine to create an interesting and beautiful walk. You arrive in Mangan Goath at the conclusion of the day, where you may relax and take in the beauty of your surroundings.
Your day will begin with an early breakfast before you hit the route for the trek from Mangin Goath to Golphu Bhanjyang. The hike starts out with a moderate climb through verdant woodlands and scenic settings. You’ll go through a variety of landscapes as you advance, including rocky trails and sharp inclination. There are many opportunities for photography and rest stops along the path, which gives breathtaking views of the nearby hills and valleys.
Although the terrain can be difficult, requiring a steady pace and cautious footing, you are kept encouraged by the stunning surroundings and the satisfying sensation of accomplishment. You will arrive in Golphu Bhanjyang, where you can unwind and take in the tranquil surroundings, after several hours of hiking.You’ll arrive, shower up, and enjoy a well-earned lunch at a nearby resort. The evening is the ideal time to relax, think back on the day’s events, and get ready for the adventure ahead.
On the trek from Golphu Bhanjyang to Chisapani, you’ll start the day with a descent through lush forests and terraced fields, gradually climbing up to the scenic village of Chisapani. The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes and a chance to experience local rural life. Along the way, you might encounter charming villages and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the natural surroundings. As you approach Chisapani, the trail becomes more gradual, leading you to your destination, where you’ll have the opportunity to relax and take in the panoramic views of the Himalayas.
Trekking from Chisapani to Sundarijal takes you over a scenic trail that descends gently through verdant forests and quaint towns. You will take in the breathtaking scenery and tranquil ambience of the surrounding natural surroundings as you travel along the picturesque trail. You will be taken to your hotel in Sundarijal, and drive to your respective Hotel. where you can comfortably rest and digest the events of the day.
On your final day in Nepal, following an amazing experience and adventure at Langtang Gosaikunda Trek with excellent service from Lhasso Adventure, transfer to Kathmandu International Airport in accordance with your international flight to return home or to your respective destinations.
