On reaching Kathmandu International Airport, you will be received by our guide and staff and then transferred to your respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city.
First, check into your hotel rooms after getting refreshed from the flight, where our expert guides will inform you regarding hotels, trekking, local lodges, and overland drives with dos and don’ts.
Morning depart from Kathmandu for an interesting drive to scenic Pokhara, leading you on Nepal’s most busy highway with views of high mountains and green landscapes as drive heads encounter towns and farm villages and then reaching Pokhara after 5–6 hours of exciting overland driving at Pokhara hotels located near Phewa Lake.
Pokhara, a beautiful, renowned touristic city blessed with natural beauty, is placed on the laps of the massive Annapurna Himalaya with the magnificent Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish Tail’, a virgin and unclimbed peaks of the Himalaya. Aside from mountains and rolling green hills, the calm lakes of Phewa and Begnas are where most of the good hotels and international standard restaurants are located.

Enjoying nice and pleasant time at Pokhara with excellent views of Annapurna Himalaya and magnificent Machhapuchare Himal, after breakfast an exciting drive leads you for few hours beyond Pokhara valley to reach our starting point of trekking.
Drive leads past Pokhara valley outskirt with marvelous scenery of Annapurna peaks and farm lands and then reaching much warmer areas of Nayapul town by the road side of Pokhara and Beni highway.
From here walk follows on leaving Modi River to a nice and lovely village at Bhirethati and beyond to reach at Tirkhedhunga village overnight stop.
From Tirkhedhunga, it is steep uphill on stone-paved steps to reach Ulleri village, and then on a gradual, winding trail to reach Ghorepani, where the walk leads into a lovely alpine woodland of rhododendron and pine trees.
After a great pleasant walk within a cool shade of woodland, you reach Ghorepani village, where your next early morning hike takes you to Poon Hill, the home of the Poon people of the Magar tribe, an ethnic hill tribe of Nepal famous as Gorkha soldiers in the UK, India and other foreign countries. This village with many good lodges offers marvelous views of the Dhaulagiri-Tukuche-Nilgiri and Annapurna Himalayan mountains.
Early in the morning, before breakfast, embark on an hour-long hike to the scenic Poon Hill at 3,210 meters, the highest point of this wonderful trek.
From Poon Hill, witness a striking sunrise with panoramic views of the mountains, including the Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Nilgiri, Annapurna Fang (Vara Shikar), and the Annapurna range of peaks, along with the majestic Machhapuchare Himal, also known as ‘Fish Tail,’ an unclimbed and virgin peak of the Himalayas.
The view also features Mt. Manaslu, with Lamjung extending towards the Ganesh Himal in the east. After a marvelous photo session, head back to Ghorepani for breakfast. Continue trekking uphill through beautiful rhododendron forests with mountain views.
From Tadapani, the morning leads downhill into dense forest and further to reach the Kimrong River after crossing a bridge with an uphill to high ridge past many scattered farm houses.
After a refreshing stop, we proceed on fairly easy downhill walks all the way to Chomrong, the last village and the gateway towards Annapurna Base Camp and the scenic sanctuary.
From Chomrong, the route passes terraced farms before descending to the Chomrong River. After crossing a bridge, you climb for an hour or more to reach Sinuwa Danda and its small village. From this scenic spot, a winding path leads into dense woodland, then descends for an hour to reach Bamboo, a small settlement with lodges surrounded by bamboo, rhododendron, and oak forest.
After a pleasant short stop at Bamboo, a gradual uphill walk brings you to Dovan for an overnight stay. Dovan, with a few lodges, is located in an isolated spot amidst a forest near the raging Modi River.
After a nice overnight in Dovan, the morning walk heads into a cool forest with a slow and gradual uphill following the Modi River upstream. The trail continues with a few ups and downs to reach the Himalaya Hotel near the huge Hinko cave, situated beneath Hiunchuli Peak.
The Himalaya Hotel is a small place with few lodges as the trek continues downhill, up to Deurali for overnight and lunch, the last place with a lodge before Machhapuchare Base Camp.
From Deurali, where lush vegetation and tree lines give way to alpine shrubs and bushes, the trail ascends along the raging Modi River. After an hour of climbing, you reach Machhapuchare Base Camp.
Machhapuchare base camp houses about five good lodges located beneath the north face of Machhapuchare Himal, the Fish Tail Peak.
After a brief stop, the trek continues towards our main destination and highlight of the adventure: the heart of Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp. Here, magnificent views of snow-capped peaks surround you. Annapurna Base Camp, unique in the Himalayas, offers cozy lodges with superb panoramic views.
After a refreshing overnight stay at Annapurna Base Camp, the morning walk takes you across a snow-covered moraine and rocky path. After an hour of navigating the icy trail, you find yourself at the glacier of Annapurna South.
After hours of climbing, you reach a flat spot to set up our base camp. In our tents for the first night, we enjoy top-notch camping amenities, complete with skilled cooks, kitchen staff, and dining tents serving up exceptional meals.
Starting early before dawn from Base Camp, the journey progresses with a steep climb along a rocky and icy glacier filled with boulders. The ascent continues, reaching a rocky ridge at 5,200 meters.
After taking occasional breaks, the adventure proceeds on the snow slope, which is steep with ice and rocks. Along the way, there are some technical sections to navigate towards the summit of Tent Peak. Our expert guide offers unwavering support, meticulously fixing ropes in the crucial sections. Finally, a last tough haul brings you to the summit, standing at 5,663 meters high.
On top of the summit, enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the entire Annapurna Himalaya peaks, and then descend safely on the same route to the base camp and carry on the walk to Annapurna Base Camp.
We allocate an additional day as a contingency plan for unforeseen bad weather conditions, which are not uncommon in the high Himalayas. If our itinerary proceeds smoothly, we will utilize this spare day while en route to Pokhara, allowing for a leisurely day to appreciate the stunning views along the way.
Following our serene sojourn amidst the majestic mountains and tranquil wilderness, our homeward trek guides us through verdant greenery and tree-lined trails, with intermittent inclines, until we arrive at Bamboo for our overnight stop.
After a long and exhilarating journey to Annapurna Base Camp and back to Bamboo in a single day, today’s trek promises to be more leisurely. The morning begins with a walk beyond the Modi River and bamboo areas, with gentle inclines and winding paths through dense woodlands leading to Sinuwa Danda, adorned with a few houses and a lodge. As we descend from Sinuwa Danda, we traverse the Chomrong River and ascend to Chomrong village, where we might consider pausing for a potential lunch break.
After leaving Chomrong, you go up a bit, then down some stone steps to Jhinu village. The village sits on a high ridge and has great views of hills and peaks. Here, we have the opportunity to luxuriate in its natural hot spring, a 25-minute downhill walk from the village along the banks of the Modi River.
After enjoying a refreshing time at a natural hot spring in Jhinu, our final day’s walk brings us back to Pokhara. We will make our descent along the banks of the Modi River, meandering through the tranquil and temperate farmlands of Siwai. From there, a scenic drive will take us back to beautiful Pokhara, where we’ll spend our last night around the serene Phewa Lake in the Annapurna region.
In the morning, transportation will be arranged either by car or coach, and for larger groups, a tourist bus will be provided.This journey back to Kathmandu promises to be captivating, offering scenic views of majestic mountains, lush green hills, and picturesque farm fields nestled within charming villages and towns. As the drive progresses, you’ll gradually transition from the serene countryside to the lively atmosphere of Kathmandu’s bustling city life.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your respective hotels. You’ll have ample time to engage in personal activities and indulge in souvenir shopping.
