Traditional Welcome

Another successful volunteering project was concluded at the school Devi Balsudhar in the community of Gokarna Suntakhan. The team project Barr Beacon School from the UK has worked from the 26th to the 28th of July to promote a better environment at the school, exchanging culture and activities with the local people. At their arrival, the school community welcomed the team, and the principal delivered a welcome speech. Colorful scarves called Khada, flowers, and a red tika on their forehead were offered to the team, together with a typical Nepali dance from the students. Afterwards, the team was taken on a short tour around the project area.

The team met the headmaster of the school to discuss the plans and agreed on the following tasks: purchasing a metal column for the roof and stairs; painting and drawing the classrooms.
